In the picture the detail of the painting the Madonna delle Grazie and saints in 1612 ad, located in the Church of the Capuchins with the 1 ^ view of the city of Platia.

This is the first view, which we have in our town.
This is the detail in the center of the painting of the Madonna delle Grazie and Saints which is located at the Church of Maria SS. delle Grazie dei Padri Cappuccini, Sant'Ippolito.

The painting of ca 1612. is the work of the painter Paul Piazza, and the special is our Platia in the early 17th century, seen from borgo Casalotto, a gift on a platter, by the Saints.

In a very distinct you spot featured the port of Saint John the Baptist with, for dx, the commandery. Top left is unmistakable the Aragonese castle and, top center, the mother church with belfry soaring (the last two levels were completed in 1581) but still without the dome.

During the period in which it is painted the picture, it is disputed whether break down completely the old mother church, to reconstruct a from scratch, or remove a part because Nice, well made and durable and because the demolition is considered very expensive.

Also in 1614 was demolished in 1607 for the rebuilding of the Bishopric reprises the initial project implementation of the new mother church, the work was entrusted to Giovanni Domenico Gagini junior (aka Gian Domenico Gagini II).
